This is a regular, benefit eligible, full-time (40 hours a week), exempt position (not eligible for overtime).

Purpose of Job

The Senior Director of Culture serves as a trusted high-level leader and primary contributor to PCPC’s mission and vision through cultivating and leading a thriving and effective staff culture. This leader serves as a member of the core leadership Ministry Area Leaders Team to pray for and collectively and holistically advance the vision of PCPC and the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ in Dallas and to the world. Through an abiding relationship with Jesus Christ, this leader serves in shepherding the lives of PCPC staff and stewarding significant resources for God’s glory and fruitfulness for His Kingdom. This leader is responsible for overseeing a strategy and plan for recruiting, on-boarding, alignment, coaching, outcomes, performance, training, and development of each staff member for the best possible individual, team, and overall ministry and organizational effectiveness. PCPC Membership is preferred.

Individual Job Responsibilities

Ministry Area Leadership

  • Core Leadership Team member who collectively prays for and implements ministry plans in PCPC’s body and to the community and the world
  • leads and manages Staff Culture Ministry Area Team
  • leads in fostering healthy staff culture in partnership with other ministry area leaders
  • invests in developing a strong organization to support vision and growth
  • partners with session Working Group elders for elder oversight and engagement
  • engages Diaconate and lay leaders for ministry participation
  • assists staff in understanding how to engage our members and volunteers

Talent Leadership

  • partners with Senior Leadership Team for a long-term, wholistic, and healthy stewardship of fruitful ministry through a healthy and effective staff culture
  • stewards, processes, and resources to ensure staff are well supported, coached, strategically aligned, and thriving in their roles
  • proactively partner with, mentor, coach, and support staff team leaders
  • evaluates existing and future roles and clarifies job descriptions for most effective organizational alignment and proper role fit
  • leads staff recruiting, search processes, evaluates and interviews candidates, and participates in search committees for high-level staff hires
  • leads on-boarding of new hires
  • leads individual staff alignment and development
  • sets direction for and leads performance review process; coaches each ministry team, facilitates frequent communication and feedback, and helps conduct performance reviews to ensure each staff member is aligned, fruitful, and fulfilled in their roles
  • directs compensation and benefits resources to ensure PCPC staff are properly compensated for their roles and as a means of facilitating healthy culture
  • manages personnel and Human Resources budgets ($9-10M annually)
  • assists staff in understanding how to engage our members and volunteers

Staff Training & Development

  • leads a culture motivated to grow and thrive spiritually, relationally, and professionally
  • develops and oversees staff training and development resources
  • plans and conducts targeted group and individual training
  • facilitates cross-platform training and staff integration among departments
  • provides coaching and feedback on development opportunities and plans
  • manages individual staff development plans when needed
  • oversees staff realignments or exit strategies when appropriate
  • conducts exit interviews for healthy feedback

Staff Engagement & Employee Relations

  • focuses on enhancing staff members’ experience
  • discerns staff dynamics and coaches staff teams in healthy, fruitful culture
  • works with team to oversee and lead staff events
  • responsible for overall positive staff experience
  • encourages staff wellness and long-term success of each staff member

Organizational Health

  • facilitates communication throughout the organization
  • supports organizational, team, and role clarity
  • directs cross-platform training and integration
  • ensures compliance for organizational practices and processes
  • stays informed on best practices for staff culture and growth
  • participate in managing organizational change as directed by leadership
  • trains and ensures compliance with all Human Resources policies and practices
  • oversees conflict resolution as needed

Human Resources

  • sets direction for healthy, well-functioning human resources department to serve staff needs, establish best practices, and maintain legal compliance
  • directs and supervises the Human Resources team
  • partners with Director of Administration to oversee and ensure confidential and well managed compensation, benefits, compliance, wellness, and safety plans

Education and Experienced Preferred

  • College degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
  • Seven years of Human Resources staff leadership experience preferably in non-profit organization.
  • SPHR and SHRM-SCP preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Human Resources credentials and commiserate experience to excel in the role.
