Job Family
Must be able to care for and minister to children between three months of age to kindergarten with a compassionate heart. Must be a reliable worker and be highly attentive to the needs and safety of children. Work is based on relationships and needs of the Children’s Ministry.
Purpose of Job
Assist the Childcare Ministry in the care and nurture of babies and children between three months of age to kindergarten.
Tuesday morning Bible Studies are scheduled between 9:00 am – 12:00 pm on Tuesdays during the fall and spring semesters.
The hourly paid rate for childcare workers is $23.00 an hour at PCPC.
Individual Job Responsibilities
Requirements for the Position
- Must authorize and pass a Criminal Background Check (CBC).
- Must complete all MinistrySafe requirements (complete the online MinistrySafe Employee Application, view MinistrySafe videos, and pass online test after viewing videos) before serving in children’s classrooms.

Unique Skills and Knowledge for Care of Children
- Ability to interact with children and adults
- Ensure proper pick-up and drop-off procedures are followed by children and parents.
- Help guide and assist children with transition from one task to another
- Help children stay attentive and responsive to lessons, music, and craft time
- Adept at handling stressful situations
- Must exhibit patience and kindness when caring for children
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work with minimal physical restrictions
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and able to sit on the floor and play with children
Parents and Children
- Build meaningful relationships with children.
- Greet each child and parent with warmth and joy as they arrive.
- Answer any questions parents may have as it relates to classroom time or lesson objectives for the day.
- Develop and build relationships with parents and children to facilitate spiritual growth, parent training, and resourcing.
Education and Experienced Preferred
High
School degree required. Two years minimum experience in Children’s Ministry on
a church staff or equivalent is preferred.
