Purpose of Job

Provide team management to the PCPC Missions Team, missional leadership to the areas of involvement in the church, and stewardship of vision and growth for future initiatives.

Alignment with Mission and Vision

Because the PCPC Missions Ministry helps to organize efforts where members can join God through serving in “Extend Initiatives” both in Dallas and to the world, the Director of Missions will be a leader who, alongside the Senior Director of Missions, will steward the PCPC Missions efforts. The Director of Missions will work to help PCPC members feel connected to God and the church through the efforts of the Missions Ministry. He/she will assist in extending God’s Kingdom in significant ways by providing opportunities, mission trips, and/or special projects for members and others to grow in their abiding relationship with Christ through the Missions Ministry.

Individual Job Responsibilities

Manage Missions Team (33%) 

Share the leadership of the Missions team by leading weekly team meetings, defining roles and goals for each member of the team and leading the annual performance review process, helping to set a calendar of events that reflects the team’s goals and initiatives, and helping maintain the Missions Team Budget.

Leadership over Missions Partnerships (33%)

Lead the partnership systems for our over 70 local and global mission partners. Ensure our mission programs are member-led and staff-directed, focusing on the mobilization of PCPC members in the activities of missions: prayer, giving, going, and serving. 

Growth of Future Initiatives (33%)

Set the vision, goals, and objectives for our church’s growth initiatives under our Extend vision, which includes the Hispanic Ministry, synergy with our Weekday Childcare Program, Neighborhood Initiative, Church Planting, and Evangelism.

Education and Experienced Preferred

A seminary degree is required. Commitment to the reformed Christian faith, a theological conviction for cross-cultural and local missions, and a winsome attitude toward evangelism are essential to this role. Ten years of experience in cross-cultural missions and justice or mercy-minded missions work with a broad range of different mission experience is required, along with five years of experience managing a team, setting team goals, and leading individuals toward success in their jobs. Experience in conflict resolution, both cross-culturally and within a home culture, is essential. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Should possess a dynamic personality with a compassionate heart for missions and missionaries; should be motivated by the Great Commission. PCPC membership is required.
